* Uber Eats' 7% pickup fee requires validated in-store pricing; otherwise it is 10%. DoorDash's 6% pickup also requires pickup prices to match in-store prices. DoorDash says its rates include payment processing, and Uber Eats lists payment processing as included in its marketplace plans. Both charge a percentage of the order subtotal.

According to DoorDash's US merchant pricing page (checked October 2026), delivery commission is 15% on Basic, 25% on Plus and 30% on Premier, and pickup is 6% on all three plans. DoorDash says these rates include payment processing. Rates can vary by market and contract.
Uber Eats' US pricing page (checked October 2026) lists a 20% Marketplace Fee on Lite, 25% on Plus and 30% on Premium, plus a 15% Self-delivery plan. Pickup is 7% with validated in-store pricing, otherwise 10%. Plus merchants pay an extra 5% on Uber One orders. Lite starts at 15% in some cities, such as NYC, Philadelphia, Seattle and Los Angeles.
Divide your cost by one minus the commission rate and your target margin: price = food cost ÷ (1 − commission % − target margin %). Example: $4.50 food cost, 30% commission and a 30% target margin gives $4.50 ÷ 0.40 = $11.25. If commission plus margin is 100% or more, no price can work.
Commission is taken from the higher app price, not your original price. A $10 item marked up 30% is $13.00; a 30% commission takes $3.90, leaving $9.10, which is less than $10. To keep $10 you need $10 ÷ 0.70 = $14.29, about a 43% markup.
Many restaurants do set higher delivery prices, and DoorDash says you can. Pickup is different: DoorDash's 6% pickup rate and Uber Eats' 7% pickup rate require app pickup prices to match your in-store prices. Check your merchant agreement and local rules before you change prices.
